Summary

Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched。” Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn’t speak。 No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear。 Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft。 But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty—unprepared for the delights to come。 Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions。

Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul。 As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret。 But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love。

This was a nice change of pace from my usual dark romances。 It was such a sweet, beautiful, and low angst historical romance。 The H was top tier, so accepting and protective of the h。 It was a beautiful story。 I also loved how much her family loved her and how devoted they were。This was my first Maya Banks book and I can't wait to read more。 This was a nice change of pace from my usual dark romances。 It was such a sweet, beautiful, and low angst historical romance。 The H was top tier, so accepting and protective of the h。 It was a beautiful story。 I also loved how much her family loved her and how devoted they were。This was my first Maya Banks book and I can't wait to read more。 。。。more

It was a very sweet and beautiful story about how love can conquer even bitter enmity。 The hero and heroine were both loving, level headed and kind although the heroine was a bit naive。 I wanted to give 4。2 Stars because some parts especially towards the end were a bitntoo cheesy for my liking but this is a must read 📚 so 4。7 Stars🌟 it is!!

Puntuación: 9。00/10。00Fanática de esta dinámica y de los personajes。 Me lloré la vida sólo con ponerme en el lugar de ellos。

4/5 🌶 spicy sexual scenesI read this because Riley Marie said it was a favorite。 This stands out with a hearing impaired heroine。 The author based the hearing impairment on her own husbands condition。

Anyway, I started reading it。 And I was very happy because the story had nothing to do with the vibes from the cover! It was a wonderful story, sweet, the romance between Eveline and Graeme was beautifully executed and their connection was amazing!! Latest in my recent historical romance trend。 Interesting concept - to think about being deaf hundreds of years ago & what that experience might be like。 But it was SO REPETITIVE it was distracting throughout the whole book。 The same things were reiterated over & over。 It was so weird。 As a result, it took me a really long time to finish because I was too annoyed to pick it back up for a while。

Graeme and Eveline。 This book was just perfection。 It’s my first full historical romance and is definitely a favourite book of the year for me。 Graeme is amazing。 Even from the start he’s honourable, just, just amazing。 I literally adore him。 I also loved the Scottish! Especially with the audiobook 😍Don’t even get me started on Eveline。 I adore her。 She’s deaf but everyone assumes she’s daft because she doesn’t speak either as she chose not to, wanting to escape a marriage。 She’s beautiful insid Graeme and Eveline。 This book was just perfection。 It’s my first full historical romance and is definitely a favourite book of the year for me。 Graeme is amazing。 Even from the start he’s honourable, just, just amazing。 I literally adore him。 I also loved the Scottish! I really enjoyed reading this historical romance。 I loved the heroine who was thought to be daft or touched in the head, but was really deaf and hiding it from her family。 The romance was perfect with the right amount of spice。 It's just some of the scenes felt a little over the top for my taste。 I really enjoyed reading this historical romance。 I loved the heroine who was thought to be daft or touched in the head, but was really deaf and hiding it from her family。 The romance was perfect with the right amount of spice。 It's just some of the scenes felt a little over the top for my taste。 。。。more

😂 Y’all, I TRIED。 But I was unable to take this book seriously。 I’m down for a cheesy love story and plot line when it is executed well and the characters have substance… this was not one of those stories。 Sorry!

A nice, solid, Scottish Highlands romance。 Interesting angle on disability—one character has hearing loss, and the author based the experience on her husband’s own hearing loss and subsequent adaptations。 It was was something new to me in this genre, done very thoughtfully and with care, and compelling to read about。 It also made the final scene more moving than corny。 I read it with a goofy smile on my face。As usual with this author, I didn’t love the violence against the female protagonist, bu A nice, solid, Scottish Highlands romance。 Interesting angle on disability—one character has hearing loss, and the author based the experience on her husband’s own hearing loss and subsequent adaptations。 It was was something new to me in this genre, done very thoughtfully and with care, and compelling to read about。 It also made the final scene more moving than corny。 I read it with a goofy smile on my face。As usual with this author, I didn’t love the violence against the female protagonist, but overall the story was largely what I expected, no more, no less。 The literary equivalent of ordering a piece of lasagna at Olive Garden。 I have no complaints。 。。。more

Absolutely wonderfulIf you've never read any of my advanced stories you're in sad shape。 She is a brilliant author。 This one of course takes place in Scotland with a Scottish men。 Back in the days when you of course betrothed someone to someone else。It is an absolutely wonderful story and wonderful tale on how Evelyn Did what she needed to do to protect herself。 Maybe the 1st time I'm reviewing this story but I will honestly tell you I have read this multiple times it is when I come back too oft Absolutely wonderfulIf you've never read any of my advanced stories you're in sad shape。 She is a brilliant author。 This one of course takes place in Scotland with a Scottish men。 Back in the days when you of course betrothed someone to someone else。It is an absolutely wonderful story and wonderful tale on how Evelyn Did what she needed to do to protect herself。 Maybe the 1st time I'm reviewing this story but I will honestly tell you I have read this multiple times it is when I come back too often kind of like a comfort food just because it is that good。 I can't recommend this enough。 And I truly hope one day my banks will be able to continue this saga I know there's 1 more book but there could be so much more。 One can only hope。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I was impressed with how just and fair graeme was, further impressed with how fierce and resilient evelive was。 The way she sucker punched him when he remarked about her family。 The way she overcame not only her fear of horses but calmed a black stallion, all to get aid for her husband and how she spoke the truth not often but almost ALWAYS。

Sara

I genuinely don’t understand why people enjoy this author’s books。

3。5 rounded to 4。 This was a good story, but Evelina is treated like a frail, fragile woman throughout the entire book。 It’s never really clear why she needs to be held all the time。 For me, there just seemed to be some underdeveloped motivation in the book。 But the plot itself is a good one。

A bit too childish and generic, especially coupled with weird generic title and cover unrelated to the story。The heroine is of course a beautiful and brave angel with a perfect self-sacrificing personality。The hero is of course a gruff protective hunk who "never really enjoyed sex before he found his true love"。The writing randomly switches between pretend 'old' speech to modern speech。An easy cookie-cutter fairytale romance。 A bit too childish and generic, especially coupled with weird generic title and cover unrelated to the story。The heroine is of course a beautiful and brave angel with a perfect self-sacrificing personality。The hero is of course a gruff protective hunk who "never really enjoyed sex before he found his true love"。The writing randomly switches between pretend 'old' speech to modern speech。An easy cookie-cutter fairytale romance。 。。。more
